Image: Khan still babbling about not wanting to fight PacquiaoBy Scott Gilfoid: In the latest news, Amir Khan is still yapping about not wanting to fight his good pal Manny Pacquiao, as if anyone has forgotten about this fact. I really don’t know why Khan can’t stop reminding boxing fans that he wants no part of Pacquiao, because it’s permanently burned into the memory of everyone eons ago. But why does Khan keep talking about it? It’s really weird. I mean I think I’ve heard it from Khan a million times already.

It’s like he’s trying not to be seen as a threat to Pacquiao for some reason. Why doesn’t Khan want to use his friendship to worm his way into a fight with Pacquiao? He might as well. It would be a heck of a lot better than seeing Khan face light punchers over and over again. Just get it over with man.

Khan said this to Skysports news about Pacquiao: “That fight will never happen. I’ve said to Freddie and Manny. Manny knows himself. We won’t fight each other. We have too much respect for each other.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we know the deal, Khan. You pipe down now on the subject. But why remind us all the time? No one has had a chance to forget any of this with you squawking about all the time. Come up with some new sound bites already.

If I’m Khan’s public relations guy, I’d have him talking serious trash and challenging Pacquiao 24/7, whether he wants to fight him or not. Khan needs to change the record already.

I know some fighters are unable to give fresh quotes for every interview, and that’s kind of sad. But I’d like to think that Khan could realize that we already know he doesn’t want to fight Pacquiao, so he doesn’t need to keep hitting us over the head with the reminders 365 days a year.

Do you think that deep down Khan really wants to fight Pacquiao? I know sometimes people say the opposite of what they really feel and I wonder if that’s the deal with Khan?

Khan has an important fight with Lamont Peterson this Saturday night and you think that Khan would want to be talking about that fight instead of how he doesn’t want to fight his buddy Pacquiao. I know Peterson has no power whatsoever, which obviously why he was hand picked to fight Khan, but could ruin King Khan’s world if he wins. Khan is really overlooking that guy. I guess it’s the easy wins over a shot Zab Judah and a slow Paul McCloskey that has Khan overconfident.
