Image: Amir Khan: Kell Brook should’ve knocked Galarza out inside the opening two roundsBy Dominic Sauboorah: Former IBF and WBA light-welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-2-0) stated how he wasn’t overly impressed with the win over Luis Galarza by undefeated British welterweight boxer Kell Brook (26-0-0).

Khan said how Brook was far too nervous at the beginning of the fight and that he should’ve got Galarza out of there a lot quicker. Many people however may beg to differ, due to the fact that this was Kell Brook’s first fight in America so obviously aspects such as nervousness were likely to come into play and at the end of the day he got the knockout he was looking for.

The former unified light-welterweight champion said he will fight Kell Brook once he fights someone whose well known, due to the fact that Khan was quoted as saying that Brook has fought “nobodies.”

If these two are to meet it could be very interesting for British boxing fans. Two world class domestic rivals in the ring is something that many Brits would be honoured to witness. There were rumours that Amir Khan and Ricky Hatton (45-2-0) would meet in the ring in 2009, however Hatton was sent into retirement after his devastating defeat to Manny Pacquiao.

A clash between two domestic rivals who box in totally different fashions. Amir Khan, considered to be the fastest puncher on the planet. Kell Brook, a young star that has faced world class opposition yet has barely appeared to go past second gear. A fight for the future, certainly. A fight to remember for British boxing fans, hopefully.
