Adamek, 35, was stopped in the 10th round by WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko last September in a fight that took place in Adamek’s home country of Poland.

Although Adamek looked extremely bad in the fight, he’s ready to go after Vitali’s brother IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in 2012. However, Adamek is going to need to get at least two wins under his belt before he’ll likely get selected by Wladimir later in the year.

Chris Arreola and Seth Mitchell have been mentioned as possible opponents for Adamek’s next fight. It might be difficult to get either one of those fighters, though, as Arreola is ranked #1 by the World Boxing Council and he doesn’t need to take any risky fights against Adamek in order to ensure he gets another title shot against Vitali.

The Mitchell fight would appear to be a long shot as well for Adamek. He may need to downsize his picks by looking at fighting some more 2nd tier fighters. Adamek pretty much fought exclusively older, 2nd tier fighters to get the shot at Vitali in the first place. This should work for Adamek again for a fight against Wladimir.

Fighting guys that are nearly 40 won’t help Adamek prepare for a fight against Wladimir, but it will keep him winning and course for another payday bout. The reality is Adamek is too small to beat the Klitschkos and unless he can get one of the titles like the WBA regular strap, which is currently held by Alexander Povetkin, Adamek will simply have to wait until the Klitschkos retire before he can win a title. Even then, it may be tough for Adamek is he has to fight an in shape Arreola or one of the better contenders like Denis Boytsov.
