By Dan Henderson: The 5th of November is a day we all know as bonfire night and with the fight card from Wembley Arena there sure promises to be some fireworks with two main bouts of the evening consisting of Burns vs Katsidis and also Groves vs Smith.
Here is my predictions for each fight.
Derek Chisora vs. Larry Olubamiwo.
This will be Derek’s first fight since losing his British and Commonwealth titles to Tyson Fury. He will face of against Larry Olubamiwo a fighter who has only lost twice in his short career he also has a good KO record with 9 KO in his 10 wins but this is a fight Chisora should win.
My Prediction. Chisora by KO.
Billy Joe Saunders vs Gary Boulden. Southern Area Title
Billy Joe Saunders will be facing of against Gary Boulden for the Southern Area Title. This is Saunders second fight in a few weeks following his win against Norbert Szekeres on the 15th of October. Gary Boulden is a fighter with minimal power who hasn’t knocked anyone out in his 9 fights so this should be an easy fight for Saunders.
My Prediction. Saunders by KO
George Groves vs Paul Smith. British and Commenwealth titles.
This should be a great fight between two of Britian’s best domestic fighters. Groves will be very confident after his narrow win over rival James Degale going into this fight and is the bookies favourite but he shouldn’t be over confident because challenger Paul Smith who was the former British champion until he lost to James Degale has good KO power and as we all know in boxing you only need to be caught flush once.
My Predition. Groves by points decision.
Ricky Burns vs Micheal Katsidis. WBO Interim Title.
The big fight of the night which features former WBO Super Featherweight champion Ricky Burns and Australian Micheal Katsidis. Ricky Burns needs to hope in going up in weight will give him better power because he will need it as Katsidis can and will take a lot of punishment so he can get close and unload. Katsidis has already beaten two British fighters before against Graham Earl and Kevin Mitchell. I would like to see Burns win but I don’t think he will. For Burns to win this fight he will have to box at a very high level.
