Image: Chisora-Olubamiwo: Dereck in what could be a tough fight for him on November 5thBy Sean McDaniel: Former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) has had a terrible year so far, first missing out on a big payday fight against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko twice, and then getting beaten by the big but very beatable Tyson Fury by a lopsided 12 round decision last July.

A win over Fury would have likely put Chisora in a title shot against Wladimir. Chisora may have had a good chance of winning had he not decided to come into the Fury fight weighing a flabby 260 pounds. I’m sure Chisora has learned a big lesson from that fight.

If not, he’s going to continue to have problems in the future when he takes on better opposition. on November 5th, Chisora takes on the 32-year-old Larry Olubamiwo (10-2, 9 KO’s) at the Wembley Arena, Wembley, London, England. This should be a fight that an in shape Chisora can win by blitzing the tall, powerful but painfully slow Olubamiwo in the first round the same way that John McDermott did recently in his 1st round knockout win over Olubamiwo last February.

However, Chisora looked as if he was only capable of fighting in short spurts before gassing out in the Fury fight. He might be stuck fighting in the same pattern against Olubamiwo. If that turns out to be the case, this could end up being a real dangerous fight for Chisora because if you leave a big puncher like Olubamiwo in the fight he can end things with one big punch at any time. Chisora can’t come in fat again if he wants to ensure that he wins this fight.
