Image: Will the Cobra’s venom be too much for Ward in Atlantic City?By Danny Burns: Photo: Casino/Showtime – Two years ago six boxers embarked on a journey. After blood, sweat and some tears the super six, super middleweight’s world boxing tournament comes to a conclusion next month in Atlantic City. On the 29th October, Carl “the corba” Froch (28-1, 20 KO’s) will take on former American Olympic gold medallist, the highly skilled Andre Ward (24-0, 13 KO’s) to decide the winner of this much demanding tournament. Both boxers are putting there world titles on the line, which significantly will be for the W.B.C and “super” W.B.A championships of the world and also for the vacant, prestigious ring magazine belt.

Froch is no stranger to traveling, he has only fought once in the U.K during the super six tournament. He has traveled the world fighting the best opponents in the super middleweight division gaining respect for his desire and courage to challenge the best out there. Andre Ward will have home advantage on the 29th October and I don’t believe this will phase the cobra at all. The man from Nottingham has once again jumped at the chance to fight in the states to show piece his skills in the greatest fight nation in the world. Froch is confident in gaining victory against Ward and being crowned super six champion but I believe its going to be a tough night for both fighters. Andre ward is a very classy boxer that has thunderous speed, the slick American made easy work out of Mikkel Kessler (44-2, 33 KO’s) and Arthur Abraham (32-3, 26). Wards speed advantage will be the key for him to win this fight, Froch had trouble with Andre Dirrell’s (19-1, 13 KO’s) speed when they fought in the U.K but Froch dug in and managed to snatch the victory. The key for Froch to win this fight is if he manages to drag Ward into a fight and by putting a lot of pressure on him, looking for angles, throwing a lot of punches and hitting him hard. I believe Ward hasn’t been in the trenches yet and think froch can take him there and if so, he will make easy work of Ward.

No doubt this fight is going to be an interesting one theirs a lot at stake with two world titles on the line, the prestigious ring magazine belt, the super six trophy and a potential unification fight with the undefeated I.B.F world champion Lucian Bute. I like both fighters and respect both of them for entering this competition which made them fight the best in there division. I don’t believe their will be a lot in this fight maybe 1 or 2 rounds for the winner.

Good luck to both boxers.

Stay tuned for more…
