Khan the best light welterweight, period

By Daniel R: On Saturday the 23rd July the boxing world witnessed a near perfection display from the now WBA and IBF light welterweight champion Amir Khan. Displaying blinding hand speed and good power Khan battered Judah for 5 rounds straight hitting him with flush combinations eventually knocking him out with a well-placed body shot just at the belt line.

Khan showed a big improvement from the Paul McCloskey fight where he missed a lot of punches and did look reckless at times, however what we witnessed was one of the slickest boxers in the division who gave Mayweather plenty of problems hit repeatedly with clean shots especially with the left hook and right hand. I was also impressed with Khan’s defence. After every punch he threw his hands quickly returned to cover up, and he got in and got out making it very hard for Judah to counter with his trademark left hand. For his part, Judah barely landed any punches over the 5 rounds to give Khan any trouble what so ever.

This fight proved Khan is the best light welterweight at the present time. I’ve read many articles stating Khan is still unproven and has to rematch Marcos Maidana or fight Lucas Matthysse. But why should he have to rematch Maidana when he clearly won the first fight where Khan displayed heart and proved he can take a punch from the hardest hitter in the division who has knocked out other highly regarded fighters such as Victor Ortiz? Why should Khan have to face Matthysse? Everyone with any boxing knowledge knows Khan would box him to death. The only logical fight now is Tim Bradley who actually did not want to fight Khan, and I see that fight going a similar way the Judah fight did, It was clear Khan’s size and power overwhelmed Judah and Tim Bradley is even smaller than Judah and does not possess the power or threat Judah would and I see Khan out-boxing Bradley all night.

I hope this fight proved to the haters and doubters especially to one specific writer who stated Khan would be knocked out that Khan is no joke and is without a doubt one of the top fighters in the division.
