Haye needs to fight Arreola for the right to a rematch with Wladimir

By William Mackay: Since former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 Ko’s) badly wants a rematch with IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko so that Haye can retire with a calm mind, he needs to at least fight one good heavyweight to earn the right to get back in the ring with Wladimir.

I can think of none better than Chris Arreola. What’s so great about this fight is that Haye has been really down on heavyweights that carry about excess body fat. Haye sees it as a weakness and doesn’t think too highly about them. Well, it would be nice to see if Haye can actually beat one of the so called out of shape heavyweights like Arreola.

It would be interesting to see if Haye, with in shape body, could beat the blubbery Arreola. I realize that Arreola has lost a quite a bit of weight in the past six months, but he’s still fat looking and he can still punch. I say that if Haye wants the fight to fight Wladimir one more time let him fight Arreola and prove that he deserves a rematch with Wladimir.

I don’t think Haye would take a fight with Arreola in a million years, and that’s not because of his retirement deadline. I think it’s because Arreola is too dangerous and would likely break Haye down with his nonstop pressure and hard power shots. But if I’m Wladimir I would tell Haye those are the conditions for a rematch.

Wladimir can’t just give Haye an immediate rematch without making him earn it, because he’ll take a lot of heat from fans if he fights Haye now. It’s bad enough that Haye got a fight with Wladimr based on wins over the following heavyweights: Monte Barrett (38-years-old), John Ruiz (38), Audley Harrison (39), and Nikolay Valuev (36).
