Image: Fury hints at retirement if he loses to Chisora tonightBy Jason Kim: Unbeaten heavyweight Tyson Fury (14-0, 10 KO’s) badly wants to win tonight when he takes on British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s). If Fury loses the fight, he could end up retiring from boxing. Fury is still very green and is only now starting to learn how to fight with the help of trainer Emanuel Steward. The chances are fairly good that Chisora will beat Fury tonight, because he’s more advanced than Fury right now and has better offensive weapons.

“If I am any good and I am going to on and win a world title I should deal with Derek Chisora quite easily and if not then obviously I am not as good as I thought I was,” Fury said to boxrec.com. “If I am any good I will win. If I have a close fight with Derek Chisora I am obviously not going to beat Klitschko. If I can`t beat Klitschko then I`m pointless being in the game because I don`t want to be a journeyman and just hang around at British level.”

Fury might as well retire now, because he’s not going to beat Chisora easily if at all. And he’s not going to be able to beat either of the Klitschko brothers either. That doesn’t make Fury a journeyman. Fury is young enough to keep improving slowly and wait out both of the Klitschko brothers until they retire. Once they’re gone, Fury can move in and try to capture one of the belts. There is, after all, four titles to pick from and five if you’re counting the Ring title. He should be able to claim one of them if he gets better.

Chisora will likely get on the inside against Fury tonight and cause him a lot of headaches. Fury won’t be able to move Chisora unless he can find some power somewhere that he hasn’t shown thus far. Chisora won’t be troubled by Fury’s weak jabs or his uppercuts on the inside. Chisora has been hit harder and walks through the weak types of shots that Fury typically throws.
