Image: Chisora: Fury doesn't have skillsBy Sean McDaniel: Undefeated British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) sees his fight with Tyson Fury (14-0, 10 KO’s) tonight coming down to is better boxing skills helping him get past the big 6’9″ Fury in their battle at the Wembley Arena, Wembley, London, England. Chisora, 27, will have few fans arguing with him on that point, because Fury is very crude in his boxing skills.

Fury seems to be only just now learning how to fight with the help by legendary trainer Emanuel Steward. The problem is Fury has so much to learn because he’s got so many bad habits in the ring. It’s going to be difficult for Fury to win this fight if he fights the way he’s been against guys like Marcelo Luiz Nascimento, Zack Page, Rich Power, and John McDermott.

If you look at those fights, Fury fought like he was just learning the game and still had no real clue how to fight properly. He still won but largely because of his 6’9″ size. Like the Klitschko brothers, huge heavyweights like them can beat smaller guys just on size alone. This appears to be what Fury has been doing. However, against a fighter like Chisora, who likes to embed himself on the inside against his opponents, Fury is going to have to show more than just size to win.

Chisora hits hard when in close and likes to throw combinations. He’s a rare fighter that can punch equally hard with both hands, meaning that he’s a real threat to knock Fury out tonight unless Fury can develop a jab. Unfortunately, Fury doesn’t have much of a jab in his armament and that could make it difficult for Fury to win tonight.

“The thing I have that he doesn’t is skills, and that’s going to be the big difference on the night,” Chisora said to london24.com. “I punch harder and my all around skills are better.”
