Image: Wladimir: A lot of British fans are supporting me more than HayeBy Scott Gilfoid: IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko says that a lot of British fans are starting to show him more support than their countryman WBA heavyweight champion David Haye in his fight with Wladimir. This is kind of surprising to Wladimir because doesn’t understand why the Brits are backing him and not their beloved Haye. But this could be an indication that a lot of Brits want to make sure they’re backing a winner and not a loser on July 2nd. It’s got to be fear. Can you imagine how they’ll feel when Haye gets knocked cold?

I don’t blame the Brits. I wouldn’t be crawling all over Haye if I were British simply because I wouldn’t want to be drowning my sorrows with pint after pint on July 2nd when Haye gets starched.

Wladimir said this to the dailystar.co.uk: “I’m surprised but Ive met a lot of British people who wish me good luck. I said this is your countryman. I don’t understand why you are telling me that. Do you just want to make me feel good and will you tell the same thing to David Haye? I don’t understand, guys. You should be supportive of your countryman.”

Oh, this is bad. I guess Haye is hated by a lot of the fans and so they’re naturally rooting for anyone to put him out of his misery. I think it’s some of that but also the old band wagon riders. They want to back a winner and Wladimir is the safest best. If it means backing a non-Brit, well I guess a lot of them are okay with that.
