McKenna (McJack): It was reported in the UK Telegraph that Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 39 KO’s) is jealous that his brother Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) is fighting David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s). Vitali says he is very disappointed that he is not the one fighting Haye.

Vitali maintains that Haye, who signed a contract to fight either of the Klitscko’s, elected to fight the younger of the brothers. Wladimir on the other hand insists that the matter was settled by the toss of a coin.

Vitali was quoted as telling Haye manager Adam Booth: “After my brother fights David, I have nothing to do. Some people are talking and saying I’ll be the next one to fight him but after Wladimir is finished with him, I’ll have nothing to do with him. That’s my personal opinion.”

In other words Vitali gives Haye very little chance of defeating Vladimir Klitscthko and thinks Haye will be demolished in the fight.

Vitali said “I am a bit upset but you know what, I will support my brother and I know it is a Klitschko against David Haye. It will not be an easy fight but a Klitschko will win. The important thing is that we hold all of the titles in the Klitschko family. It’s a great challenge for us.”

“It will be a big battle. I know it will not be an easy fight for my brother. Wladimir trusts himself. He is not angry or emotional. David Haye is emotional, trying to provoke my brother. But he has been unsuccessful.”

Vitali will have his own title fight on September 10 against his mandatory challenger Tomasz Adamek (44-1, 28 KO’s). That fight will be a Mega event in Poland and will be held in the new 45,000 seat Wroclaw Stadium, in Wroclaw, Poland. HBO, in addition to showing the David Haye – Wladimir Klitschko fight, will also be airing the Vitali Klitschko – Tomasz Adamek fight.

If David Haye unexpectedly wins his match with Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali will more than likely postpone his fight with Tomasz Adamek to take on David Haye before his scheduled retirement in October. With the Klitschko’s it’s all about preserving family honor.

There is some question as to whether Vitali Klitschko is really upset with his brother for stepping in and taking on David Haye in place of him. All along it was pretty clear that David Haye, in spite of what he says, wanted no part of Vlitali Klitschko
