By Peter Wells: In front of his adoring fans the new Sheffield hero shone hope over Britain as a new star is ready to make himself known to the whole world. Kell Brook was pushed the full 12 for the first time in his life and he was on top from start till finish. Lovemore N’dou kept his reputation as the man who can’t be stopped after taking some big shots and was wobbled on a few occasions. Brook though stuck to the game plan and despite taking a few big shots he always looked in control.

I’d like to congratulate N’dou for coming out and putting up a great fight, he was always willing to throw back and really gave Kell a big test that he needed. It wasn’t until the later rounds that Lovemore really started to hold on as Brook upped the tempo to find a knockout finish.

Brook though showed true class he kept a good pace through-out and managed to swerve a few shots but did get caught with a few shots where he could have avoided them. But it was a first to see someone giving Brook a chin check and he passed it very well. Some of the combinations he did put together were dazzling he went from head to body very well and always sneaked shots from all angles to get through N’dou’s tight guard. At range he controlled with his jab and landed some nice straight rights.

The best thing he got out of the fight though was entertaining his fans and they loved every second of it as Brook got through hurting N’dou when he had him on the ropes but never really losing control of the plan. Next up I’d like to see him in with some Welterweights who have had the experience of fighting some top fighters to test him. Maybe someone like Paulie Malignaggi or Randall Bailey or Alfonso Gomez. These are tough fights but ones he needs to get through to get to that world title which I’m sure isn’t far away now.
