Image: Brook-N'dou: Can 'Special K' be the first to stop 'The Black Panther' ?By Peter Wells: On Saturday night a young lad from Sheffield, England will be fighting in front of his hometown fans for only the 4th time, but this time it is the most important. This is the perfect timing for Kell Brook 23-0(16KO’s) to dazzle his supporters, this is exactly where fighters start their huge fan bases and now it’s time for Brook to start his own.

A big win for the home favourite would elevate him right into the world title mix and fans all over the world will start to take notice.

On paper his opponent seems relatively easy to beat but despite Lovemore N’dou’s record 48-12-2(31KO’s) he still holds a good reputation as a tough opponent who can’t be stopped. Even N’dou’s latest opponent Saul Alvarez could not dispose of the veteran and had to settle for a convincing points victory. And in 2009 Matthew Hatton only managed a draw against the South African who is now situated in Australia. And even the dangerous Miguel Cotto could not stop N’dou back in 2004. If Kell is to stop Lovemore he’d be doing what Sharmba Mitchell, Junior Witter, Kermit Cintron, Paulie Malignaggi and many others could not do.

Brook hasn’t been tested hugely but did beat Michael Jennings in the same amount of rounds as Miguel Cotto did not so long earlier. But those who have challenged Kell have not lasted long and he has never gone beyond round 7. This is where N’dou comes in to give Brook that much needed stamina test. Kell may want to knock N’dou out but he’ll surely want to get about 10 rounds in the bag.

If Lovemore N’dou can push Kell into those later stages then it could become a challenge but i expect Brook to pace himself well before really kicking it up a gear in the final four rounds to pull off a late stoppage in about the 10th or 11th round.
