According to news from Dan Rafael, Pacquiao is going to sing at the Mandalay Bay beach party after the fight. I don’t know about you but I see that as poor taste. That’s like spiking the football after a touchdown. Out of respect for the nearly 40-year-old Shane Mosley, don’t you think Pacquiao should hold off on his victory singing for at least one day instead of getting up there and crooning to a room full of lovesick fans? To me that’s like gloating in victory. What if Pacquiao loses or gets knocked cold. Will he still sing? I bet he won’t. I see this as one of those victory party type singing affairs.

I imagine Pacquiao is going to sing his favorite by Dan Hill, ‘Sometimes when we touch.” That is a really old song. I think it came out in 1977. It is incredibly weird to see a song like that in 2011.

I think Mosley needs to take the news about Pacquiao planning on singing after the fight and use it as motivation to really pound him. We’ve already seen Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum make an offer to Juan Manuel Marquez for Pacquiao’s next fight even though the Mosley fight still hasn’t been fought. That tells you that they see this as a ‘W’ for Pacquiao. Would they be doing this if Floyd Mayweather Jr. was Pacquiao’s opponent on Saturday? I kind of doubt it. Would they be doing this if Sergio Martinez was the one Pacquiao was facing? I’d love to see Pacquiao try to sing to a roomful of people after going 12 rounds with Martinez. Pacquiao would likely be all beat up and mumbling his words instead of trying to get emotion in that old “Sometimes when we touch” song.
