Haye is a good small heavyweight facing a good big heavyweight with better boxing skills, a much jab and equal, if not better, power in both hands. Haye’s only chance of winning the fight is to score a knockout. He can’t box his way to a decision because he doesn’t throw a lot of punches and lacks a consistent jab.

In an interview by Sky Sports News, Haye said “He [Wladimir] hasn’t done anything to earn my respect. He’s fought a bunch of has-beens and never was. This time he’s fighting someone young and hungry and fresh and who is a champion and who is a former world unified champion in the weight division below [cruiserweight]. I’ve fought these big European guys before. I’ve never in my life, amateur or professional, lost to an Eastern European. He’s coming out of Ukraine with his big robotic style. He isn’t going to be enough to silence me or stop me in the ring. He’s going to be collecting his check with half his teeth missing…I’m going to beat him with skill and speed.”

Haye will likely be moving constantly and looking to land one big home run punch to try and get a stoppage. He won’t be charging Wladimir and looking to throw combinations like some fighters have tried. It’s going to be one punch at a time with Haye hoping he can stun Wladimir.
