Haye faces IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) on July 2nd at the Imtech Stadium, in Hamburg, Germany. Once these two fights are taken care of, Haye plans on retiring at the end of the year rather than continuing in the sport and defending any titles he may have won.

One question: How will the sport be rid of the Klitschko brothers if Haye is planning on retiring at the end of the year? I don’t understand that. I guess Haye expects the Klitschko brothers to quit like him. Somehow, I don’t see the Klitschko brothers as quitters, especially if they were to lose to Haye. Of course, Haye is the one that will likely be losing and he’s the one who will probably be hanging up the gloves after being knocked out by Wladimir in July. There really won’t be any point in Haye continuing with his career because Vitali Klitschko won’t waste time fighting him after Haye gets blasted out by Wladimir. With Haye losing that fight, he’ll have to go after other heavyweights.

Speaking on his site hayemaker.com, Haye said “This is a massive fight not only for me but also for boxing. I am going to rid the sport, especially the heavyweight division of the boredom fans have had to put up with because of the Klitschko brothers.”

Haye promotes unbeaten Commonwealth super middleweight champion George Groves (12-0, 10 KO’s), who has the bad luck of having to face British champion James DeGale (10-0, 8 KO’s) on Saturday night. DeGale should easily win this fight by knockout. However, Haye is going against the general consensus and is picking Groves to win, saying “In my opinion, George will win the fight.”

Well, in my opinion, Groves is going to be massacred by DeGale and humiliated in the process. I have no dog in this hunt and don’t care who wins. I just have to speak the truth here – Groves stand a chance.
