Wladimir was taken aback by Chisora’s ultra confidence that he showed during their prior press conferences and by Chisora’s complete lack of respect for him as a fighter. Chisora made it clear that he thinks Wladimir was bad for boxing because his fights were often boring and didn’t live up to the ideal that Chisora thought that heavyweight champions should represent.

In an article at thesun.co.uk, Wladimir said “Chisora insulted me many times and and is why I still have unfinished business with him. He is a very good boxer but as a person he is a loser. Like I would have done in December, I will now teach him a lesson at the end of April.”

Wladimir was previously on course to fight Chisora on December 11th in Mannheim, Germany, but Wladimir tore an abdominal muscle only days before the fight, making it necessary for Wladimir to pull out of the fight. However, with the help of his promoter Frank Warren, Chisora was able to get the fight with Wladimir after all. Wladimir is scheduled to fight WBA heavyweight champion David Haye on July 2nd, but doesn’t just want to sit and wait for that fight without getting a quick tune-up beforehand. This is where Chisora comes in. Wladimir has got the skills to easily beat Chisora without getting marked up and ruining a fight against Haye on July 2nd. This is why Chisora is a good fight for Wladimir. It’s like a walking heavy bag for Wladimir to punch around on until Chagaev falls. And with Wladimir wanting to make a lesson of Chisora, it will make it all the more interesting to see how Wladimir pummels the British heavyweight.
