So Prescott and Brook aren’t good for Khan but Lamont Peterson is?

By Scott Gilfoid: I don’t know what the world is coming to. Here we have two perfectly serviceable knockout artists in Breidis Prescott and Kell Brook just begging to get a shot against WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan, and yet neither of them are likely to get selected by Khan. You can probably guess why they’re not going to get selected.

Instead, boxing fans are probably going to have to sit through a fight between Khan and the light hitting Lamont Peterson in April, which is when Khan fights again. The fight’s going to take place in the UK, and this is supposed to be some kind of gift fight for them to get a chance to see him fight.

Man, if I’m British I’d be furious at having to see Khan face another light puncher. Why would Khan choose Peterson when this guy was kissing the canvas over and over again in his last fight against Victor Ortiz? What an awful choice.

I had Ortiz winning that fight by the way. Why doesn’t Khan fight him? At least Ortiz can punch. Actually, I think he punches about as hard as Marcos Maidana. We saw what Maidana did to Khan recently when he had Khan staggering around the ring in the 10th.

Can you imagine what a faster fighter like Ortiz would do to Khan with his kind of power? That would be some fight. But do you think that Ortiz will get selected? I wouldn’t hold my breath. It’s going to be Peterson, the light puncher that gets this fight. It’s all so predictable it’s not even funny.

Maybe Khan’s fragile chin will be still affected by the beating Maidana gave him, and we could be seeing Khan get knocked cold by Peterson very early.
