However, Mosley will be able to come away from a beating, no matter how bad, with a huge payday in particular if the fight reaches 1 million pay per view buys. Mosley, 39, will reportedly make $15 million for his beating, which is a nice golden parachute for anyone who is not far from retirement.

Pacquiao is said to be making even more, as much as $20+ for this fight. That’s if boxing fans in high numbers go for this fight and purchase it on pay-per-view. You can bet HBO will be creating one of their HBO 24/7 Pacquiao/Mosley series so that they can build the fight up and try to get boxing fans to buy the thing.

It might be best that they show a lot of old footage of Mosley when he was still fighting well and looking good. Mosley sure hasn’t been looking good as of late, though, with as one-sided loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. last year and then he followed it with a controversial 12 round draw against Sergio Mora in September last year. I saw the fight and noted that Mora appeared to win by at least four rounds.

Mosley looked as old as the hills, and fought terribly. It’s mind boggling that Mosley was chosen as an opponent to fight Pacquiao based on those two fights. It makes you wonder what a fighter has to do to get fights. If you factor in how many of Pacquiao’s recent opponents were either coming a loss or looking terrible at the time they were chosen, you can kind of understand how Mosley was picked.
