Amir Khan and Kell Brook make up on twitter

By William Mackay: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan and Kell Brook have been battling back and forth recently in the media with both saying they got the better of each other in sparring years ago when they both were amateurs. Brook came out today with his version of what took place in their sparring sessions, saying that he had given Khan “a hiding”.

However, it looks like the two have made, at least that’s what it seems like given Khan’s twitter today, saying “Been speaking with Kell Brook. He also admits it’s hyped by the papers. We both agree in the future it would be a fight but not just yet. Anyway, good luck to him. All cleared up.”

It would be interesting to see what Brook says about all this, because it would be crazy for him to give in and just wait to get a title shot later. There may not be any later if Khan gets blown out of the water in his next two fights. At that point, Brook would be doing Khan a big favor by fighting him. The Khan-Brook fight needs to take place right now while Khan is still cogent. If Brook waits too long, Khan may be mumbling his words and it won’t be worth it.

This is what Khan said earlier today on his twitter account:

“One last thing Kell (Kell) Book and keep on dreaming. I aint going to fight him because it’s too easy. I’ll get criticized. I’m on path to unify my division fight better opponents and financially securing my future. End of story.”

“Kell Brook give me a hiding. Ha ha. He was a weight above me when I used to be amateurs and I smacked him. Just ask the England squad, ask the coaches and boxers. He giving big talk now but when he was in camp, he was quiet like a mouse. He wants to be in my shoes. What’s he talking crap for? Is he broke or what?”

Khan thinks he’s going to unify the titles in the light welterweight division. Then again, Khan might be on the path getting stomped, battered and sent back down to the local level fighting domestic fighters.
