Chisora, 26, will be facing Wladimir on April 30th in what Klitschko hopes will be a tune-up bout before his scheduled July 2nd unification bout against World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion David Haye. However, Chisora has other ideas in mind, saying he plans on making sure that Wladimir and Haye never fight by defeating Wladimir and putting himself in the lead position for a bout against Haye in the future.

Speaking to Talksport, Chisora said “David Haye doesn’t want to fight. He thinks he should get more money. The problem with David Haye is that he’s a model and he thinks he needs to get paid 12 million pounds a fight, you know a million pounds a round but it doesn’t work like that. I don’t know what David Haye is playing at. Credit to him for winning the title but he needs to give is at least four more fights before he retires. If he wants to get the respect of us on the street, like Frank Bruno does, he has to give the public some good fights before we can say, ‘yeah, he’s the original heavyweight.’ Haye is crying a lot saying ‘I wanted to fight him or him,’ but he can wait. My goal right now is to make sure that fight will never happen, him and the Klitschko brothers.”

Haye plans on retiring in October when he turns 31, and seems to be resistant to sticking around beyond that. It’s going to be interesting to see if Haye changes his mind about that if he still hasn’t faced Wladimir by then. If he does beat Wladimir but run out of time to fight his older brother WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, there’s a good chance that we may be seeing Haye extend his retirement deadline until after his fight with Vitali. Haye wouldn’t likely want to away from countless millions on a fight with Vitali. It would be the perfect bout, even more popular than the Wladimir-Haye bout because of the revenge factor for Vitali.

Haye is upset with Wladimir because he’s decided to take a tune-up bout with Chisora instead of facing him straight away on July 2nd. Haye is worried that Wladimir may get injured in the Chisora fight or not be interested in making the July fight. Wladimir, however, wants the tune-up bout because he hasn’t fought since way back in September 2010 when he dispatched Samuel Peter in a one-sided fight.
