By Gerardo Granados: Congressman Pacquiao is the current WBC light middleweight champion and Dinamita Marquez is the current WBO – WBA Super World lightweight champion; how hard could it be for Golden Boy Promotions or for Top Rank to arrange things with the IBO ranking committee to rank both for the vacant light welterweight title?

Juan Manuel Marquez stopped brave Michael Katsidis after nine rounds of real battle that will be candidate as fight of the year. Katsidis knock down Marquez on the third round and that is practically all he could do against the much better skilled veteran. Marquez showed sings of aging but also proved that he is still one of the pound for pound top list.

Marquez can be competitive against Pacquiao at 140 pounds, but not if they were to fight at 147 pounds, besides Pacquiao would have the weight advantage and his critics would not forgive that issue.

Antonio Margarito was utterly beaten, Joshua Clottey didnt put up much of a fight, Miguel Angel Cotto was competitive for a few rounds only, Ricky Hatton was knocked out unconsciuos and Oscar De la Hoya was embarrassed. Juan Manuel Dinamita Marquez is the last fighter to be really competitive against Congressman Manny Pacquiao; for some the first bout between them was won by Marquez, truth is this bout was very even, the second bout was a draw but it could have been different if Pacman had not knock down Marquez in the first round.

If Marquez fights for the vacant IBO junior welterweight title he would have the chance to become the only mexican boxer to accomplished four titles in four different weight divisions. Marco Antonio Barerra (WBC – IBF super featherweight, WBC – IBO featherweight & WBC – WBO super bantamweight), Erik Morales (WBC – IBF super featherweight, WBC featherweight & WBC – WBO super bantamweight) , Fernando Montiel (WBC – WBO bantamweight, WBO super flyweight & WBO flyweight), Juan Manuel Marquez (WBO – WBA Super World lightweight, WBC super featherweight & WBA Super World – IBF featherweight) , Julio Cesar Chavez (WBC – IBF light welterweight, WBC – WBA World lightweight & WBC super featherweight) failed to obtain his fourth against Pernell Whitaker (WBC Welterweight) and Oscar De la Hoya (WBC Welterweight); these mexican boxing icons are the only three division champions that Mexico owns. Marquez could become the only one to achieve such feat and could be considered as great as the great Julio Cesar Chavez. If he cant accomplish this feat then maybe only Montiel would be able due he is a three division champion in his prime but I guess that outside Mexico, not all boxing fans knew he is a three division champion; not considering to have a real chance Barrera neither Morales.

If Pacman agrees to fight Marquez at 140 pounds, he wont be criticized for the catch weight issue that detractors and rivals use, to accuse him to obtain an inappropriate advantage.
Now, Pacquiao achieved big PPV numbers against Antonio Margarito, 1.15 millions buys; how many of those buys were made by Margarito´s fans? In Mexico or the U.S.A. Juan Manuel Marquez is a bigger name than Margarito, so imagine the opportunity to obtain a fourth championship in a fourth weight division against his hatred rival the pound for pound king, how would it impact in PPV numbers? It could be a big business for all the involved in the fight.

Well I think this could be a good business and a tremendous fight. What do you think?
