Predictions: Khan-Maidana, Haye-Harrison, Pacquiao-Margarito, Froch-Abraham, Klitschko-Chisora, Marquez-Katsidis

By Ben James: We all love boxing and we all have very strong opinions about who is going to win each fight. A lot of us spend a lot of time arguing our points with strangers on the internet but how many of us will put out money where our mouth is and declare their predictions? After studying some of the more high profile fights in the coming months I have decided to share my opinion with you all and explain why I believe it to be true.

David Haye vs Audley Harrison

PREDICTION: David Haye via TKO

REASON: You can not ignore the fact that Audley Harrison has upped his game and matured as a fight in the past year or so, but you cant ignore the fact that he has not come close to facing or beating anyone on the same level as the champion David Haye. This is the same Harrison who lost to taxi driver Martin Rogan less than 2 years ago. At the age of 38 I do not believe he can improve enough to beat David Haye.

Harrison has this nasty habit of freezing when he is under pressure in the ring, he has never been in the ring with someone with Hayes power, I think soon as Haye starts to come forward Harrison will go back into his shell and eventually the fight will be stopped by the ref.

Having said all this I will still give Harrison a punchers chance of beating Haye, after all this is heavyweight boxing and anybody can get knocked out if hit by a lucky punch.

Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito

PREDICTION: Manny Pacquiao via UD

REASON: At first I was questioning whether Pacman could beat someone as tall and big ar Margarito, but then I started paying attention to everything team Pacquiao have been sayin to the media. They seem to be talking down their own fighter and talking up his opponent which is highly unusual.

Pacquiao is Bob Arums cash cow and I do not believe Arum would risk this fight if he was not 100% confident that Manny was going to win. It is also my believe that this is why the Mayweather fight has not been made yet, they are not confident enough that Manny will win and they all want to milk the Paquiao bandwagon before he retires into politics full time.

I hope Margarito can redeem himself after his hand wrap controversy by at least putting up one hell of a fight in this match. Good luck to him, I would love to see him shock the world, but I would not put money on it.

Carl Froch vs Arthur Abraham

PREDICTION: Arthur Abraham via KO

REASON: I am a Carl Froch fan. As a fellow Englishman I was very happy to see him rise through the domestic ranks slowly and then become a world champion, showing the world how much heart and passion he has for the sport, as well as his work ethic, stamina and decent chin.

But! Carl has a habit of leaving his hands low, something he does not have the reflexes or speed to get away with at world class level, he gets hit far too often and now he is stepping in the ring with Abraham who is a huge puncher with something to prove.

Abraham is also very hard to hit in comparison to Froch and I believe this is what will lead to Froch getting knocked out before the end of this fight. He has already been knocked down since moving up to the world scene, so we know its possible to knock him out no matter how tough he is.

Expect a tough but thrilling fight from both fighters but expect Abraham to win by KO, just dont count out Froch entirely as he has a punchers chance of winning this fight.

Juan-Manuel Marquez vs Michael Katsidas

PREDICTION: Michael Katsidas via SD

REASON: This prediction is my biggest risk, nobody can question that Marquez is a brilliant fighter, one of the best in the world, but I believe his day has come and gone.

He is past his prime and does not have the hunger he once did, this is the guy who was suppose to be number 2 in the p4p rankings before Mayweather made him look like a journeyman in their fight.

Katsidas is a talented fighter who is hungry, and I believe its this hunger which will get him a close split decision victory over Marquez, but again this is not a fight I would bet my money on. Marquez could pull something out of the bag and destroy Katsidas.

Wladimir Klitschko vs Derek Chisora

PREDICTION: Wladimir Klitschko via TKO

REASON: Derek Chisora is a brilliant prospect, he is strong, fast, aggressive and hungry, but it is early days in his career and I dont think he is ready to BEAT any of the 3 heavyweight champions.

Klitschko is going to do what he always does so well and keep Chisora at a distance slowing pounding away at him with that piston like jab before eventually taking him out and the fight been stopped in the later rounds.

Again I hope Chisora proves me wrong here but it is unlikely to happen.

Amir Khan vs Marcos Maidana

PREDICTION: Amir Khan via TKO

REASON: I am not going to question that Marcos Maidana is one powerful fighter with the ability to knock out any fighter at 140lbs. I just do not think he is going to beat Amir Khan.

We all saw the Maidana vs Victor Ortiz fight, what a tear up! Both warriors hitting the canvas multiple times before Maidana came out on top. This fight proved a lot, it proved Maidana has power but is also vulnerable to power and speed, and if theres one thing Amir Khan has its speed.

I see Maidana as a one dimensional fighter, a domestic level fighter gifted with power. Whereas Khan is more of a complete package. He has skill, brains, power, speed and heart.

The Americans do not like Khan, they think he is going to get knocked out like he did against Prescott but he wont. His team are too smart to let that happen again, I give Maidana a punchers chance at best.

These are the only high profile fights in the coming months that I believe I know enough about to form an objective opinion and not just guess who is going to win.

Please feel free to add your comments and feedback, but also realise I do not really care if you do not agree with me, on fight night you will see for yourself that I am right.
