Klitschko vs. Chisora: Should we build up a fight that shouldn’t happen?

Image: Klitschko vs. Chisora: Should we build up a fight that shouldn’t happen?By Mark Hepplestall: Firstly I would like to start this article by stating that I condemn some of these so called writers that are building up the Wladimir Klitschko Vs Derek Chisora fight. These so called writers are building up the fight by talking up Derek’s chances and dramatically reducing Wladimir’s chances, when hopefully the whole boxing public can see this is a fight which should not happen as it will not be competitive in the slightest.

Now as a fan of Chisora he showed good qualities that prospects need to develop in his last fight against Sam Sexton, yet i cannot get past that Chisora has not even proven he is the best at british level by bypassing Tyson Fury, Matt Skelton, Michael Sprott, David Price, John McDermott, Larry Olubamiwo or Tom Dallas. In fact out of the top 15 of the British scene the only people he has fought are Sam Sexton twice, an awful Danny Williams and Carl Baker who is known as the fridge and moves just like one as well. Meanwhile Wladimir’s record speaks for itself, he has beat everyone worth beating in the heavyweight division but one and not fought outside the top 15 since he fought Hasim Rahman as a late replacement.

Also I don’t understand what some people think Derek has over Wladimir, people point out Wladimir’s Chin which hasn’t failed in over 3 or 4 years, also Derek has not had his chin tested by any boxer who can punch and it is expected to buckle under the hard jabs from Wladimir. But does Chisora have enough power to make any significant impact on Wladimir’s chin, he is not exactly known for his explosives knockouts. Wladimir has hardly lost a round in the last 3 or 4 years and for such a big boxer has great stamina, while Chisora has never gone 12 rounds and seemed gassed out going into the later rounds against Sexton.

Chisora will not even be gaining much, £200,000 and worldwide coverage. Well £200,000 could be earned by fighting 3 or 4 British fighter which would get him more fans, whereas fighting Wladimir would make him lose fans. Honestly has anybody ever heard from any of the other boxers that lost to either Klitschko’s? Other then Sam Peter who just seems to fall into title matches for no reason I haven’t heard of or seen the likes of Kevin Johnson, Eddie Chambers, Chris Arreola, Albert Sosnowski or Juan Carlos Gomez?

Not even the British boxers and analysts give him a chance, David Haye said “The Klitschko shot is too soon for Dereck Chisora”, Lennox Lewis thinks the Klitschko’s should eat humble pie and come to the table with a better offer for Haye instead of Chisora. The fact that the majority of the boxing world think chisora has less then no chance of winning is a good enough reason for cancelling the show and having Wladimir fight a more experienced boxer who is less likely to get hurt.

Maybe the best thing for both fighters would be for the fight to be called off and Wladimir to fight someone more suited to a world title match like Alexander Dimitrenko and Chisora should put his titles on the line against Michael Sprott the latest Prizefighter winner
