Image: Chisora says Wladimir is "On his way down"By Dave Lahr: Unbeaten British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO”s) made a brave confession that he’s having problems finding enough sparring partners to train for his December 11th bout against International Boxing Federation/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) at the SAP-Arena, Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Speaking with Sky Sports News, the 26-year-old Chisora said “I haven’t been getting enough sparring partners. I want to pay good money but they won’t come up here, they’re giving me all talk.”

This could be a problem for Chisora because he’s going to have to deal with the huge 6’6″ height of the 34-year-old Klitschko and that’s going to be a problem unless Chisora has adequate sparring partners to help him train for the big Ukrainian. I still don’t think it will be a factor in this fight, because Chisora will rise to the occasion and get close enough to find Wladimir’s weak chin when he attempts one of his many clinches in the fight. Chisora is a lot younger than Wladimir and with his youth, power and inside game, he should have enough to pull off a shocking upset on December 11th to take the Ukrainian’s titles back to England.

Chisora, ever confident, says “I’m on my way yo, he’s on his way down and we’re meeting in the middle. And guess what happens when two trucks meet in the middle? It’ a crash.”

I agree with Chisora. Klitschko is fading and he’s meeting Chisora at the wrong moment in his career. The British heavyweight is still on the way up and not even close to reaching his peak as a fighter, whereas Wladimir has been heading downwards since 2007. Chisora is going to wear him down, find his chin, and take him out on December 11th. Chisora is still little known among boxing fans, but he’s clearly the best of the heavyweight contenders from what I’ve seen of the bunch. He’s a diamond in the rough and he’s going to show the world how good he is by beating Klitschko easily next month.

With a win over Wladimir, it will put Chisora in a great position for a big money unification bout with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye in 2011. This is the fight the Klitschko brothers want, but haven’t been able to put together because they’re not willing to give Haye the deal he wants. I see a fight between Haye and Chisora easy to negotiate.
