Image: Margarito can revive his career by knocking Pacquiao outBy Dan Ambrose: Antonio Margarito can undo pretty much all the damage from his hand wrap issue by knocking Manny Pacquiao out next month when they face off on November 13th at the Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas. Margarito, 32, is a huge underdog in this fight. However, this is the way he likes it, as Margarito was often an underdog earlier in his career and is quite comfortable with nothing expected of him. If Margarito takes Pacquiao out in a brutal fashion, it won’t be as bad for the small Filipino fighter as would be if he were talking on someone his own size. Facing the much bigger 5’11” Margarito gives Pacquiao and his adoring fans a ready made excuse by blaming the loss on the size of Margarito.

And, of course, Margarito’s size would be a huge reason for him beating Pacquiao. However, Margarito’s high punch volume will also likely play a big part in Margarito destroying Pacquiao. The best way for Margarito to really get his career back in order is not to just beat Pacquiao, but to brutally batter him and leave him a bloody wreck of a fighter on the canvas. It has to be one of those savage beatings that fans talk about for some time. If Margarito beats Pacquiao like that, he’ll be the top dog and will be assured of a making a huge bundle in a rematch with Pacquiao. Margarito will then probably ease off on his training and get beaten in a rematch.

However, it won’t really matter at that point because he’ll have made a ton of money and won’t have to fight anymore. As it is, Margarito can make up to $8 million for this fight on November 13th. That’s excellent money. Now all Margarito needs to do is give Pacquiao a bad beating to win the respect back from Pacquiao. Margarito could wind up with a rematch against Pacquiao and fights against guys like Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Amir Khan if things go right for him.
