“The Battle of York 5” undercard results

By Sam Gregory: The first bout on the undercard of “The Battle of York 5” was a scheduled 4 round bout between Kevin Kibler 0-2-1 of Columbia, SC and Alantez Fox of Forrestville, Md who was making his professional boxing debut in the junior middleweight division.

After the fourth and final round the fight went to the judge’s scorecards: 40-36, 40-36 and 40-35 all for the winner by unanimous decision Alantez Fox. Fox’ record is 1-0 while Kibler fell to 0-3-1.

In the second bout of the evening Stevie Weimer of York, Pa improved his unbeaten record to 5-0 with 2 KO’s when he won a majority decision over Donte King of Cambridge, Ma who fell to 2-8-2 with 1 KO in a four round bout in the welterweight division. The judge’s scorecards read 38-38, 39-37 and 39-37

In the third bout of the evening Doel Carrasquillo of Lancaster, Pa scored a third round TKO over Maurice Chalmers of Lynchburg, Va at 49 seconds in the third round of a scheduled 6 round bout in the welterweight division. Carrasquillo improved his record to 13-15-1 with 11 KO’s while Chalmers fell to 8-11-1 with 5 KO’s.

In the fourth bout of the evening Eric Nemo of York, Pa stopped Rasool Shakoor of Jackson, Mi at 1:57 of the first round in a scheduled 4 round bout in the junior lightweight division. Nemo improved his record to 9-1-1 with 3 KO’s while Shakoor fell to 3-8-1 with 1 KO.

In the 5th bout of the evening Terence Crawford of Omaha, NE stopped Ron Boyd of Washington DC at 2:28 of the first round of a scheduled 6 round bout in the junior welterweight division. Crawford improved his unbeaten record to 12-0 with 9 KO’s. Boyd fell to 6-11-1 with 2 KO’s; Boyd’s seconds informed ringsiders their fighter suffered a broken hand in this bout.

In the sixth bout of the evening hometown favorite Andres “Taylor Made” Taylor of nearby Johnstown, PA scored a TKO win over Adam Harris of Worcester, MA in a scheduled 6 round bout in the cruiserweight division. In the first round of this bout Harris had a point deducted for excessive holding. For the first two rounds of the fight Taylor pummeled Harris with combinations to the body and head; Harris wasn’t able to answer the bell for the third round helping Taylor to improve his record to 16-1-1 with 7 KO’s. Harris fell to 10-4 with 7 KO’s.
