Image: Marquez-Diaz II: Are we heading for another trilogy or can Marquez take all the glory?By Peter Wells: Fight of the year 2009; Fight of the year 2010? Can the two Juan’s give us something to smile about again, the war we all are begging to see? Juan Manuel Marquez is now recovered from his one sided defeat to Floyd Mayweather Jr, while Juan Diaz may still be rubbing his wounds he suffered in his last defeat to Paulie Malignaggi.

Both fighters have suffered defeats, but both fighters find themselves once again facing off in another much anticipated fight. Marquez the much older and wiser fighter with the heart of a lion, last time he came back from behind to rip open the tough ‘Baby bull’ to stop him in the 9th round. Diaz showed last time he can outbox Marquez and has the power to push him back, Marquez has been down plenty of times but is a complete warrior.

If Diaz had held himself together he would have outboxed Marquez but it was never to be, he didn’t have enough to keep the ‘Daddy Bull’ off him. Diaz has to make sure this time that the fight doesn’t turn into a brawl, and maybe could do with a bit of luck that Marquez isn’t what he was last time the two met.

Marquez just has to do what he did last time and once again the victory will be his. A trilogy is a possibility if Diaz levels the scores, if not then Marquez can move on to more opposition, and he has plenty to choose from. Michael Katsidis his mandatory, Amir Khan who doesn’t want to fight anyone his own size despite all his trash talk. I’d still see Marquez winning that one as Marquez is still a great fighter and a win tonight will prove that even more.

Diaz will once again pull an early lead with good boxing only this time it may take Marquez only about 3 rounds to start countering and giving Diaz a beating. Juan will try to keep his distance but the oncoming Marquez will be ultimately too much for him and some more uppercuts will once again leave Diaz on the floor after about 7 rounds. It will be very identical to the first one only expect Diaz to engage a little less when Marquez starts to come forward.
