Image: Magnificent Mayweather proves he can do it allBy Kyle Simpson: After watching and re-watching Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s dominant performance over Shane Mosley I know find myself thinking that Mayweather has everything an all time great boxer requires.

There have been many criticisms in the past of Mayweather’s so called boring style leading to dull and drab fights which is some cases he does just enough to win, like in the De La Hoya fight for example but after the way he performed against Mosley on Saturday night he has truly silenced those views.

After a rather uneventful first round, in the second the fight came alive with Mosley landing several big shots which caused Mayweather to hold and one big right hook from Mosley which would have probably knocked down many Welterweights rocked Mayweather to his core and nearly sent him to the canvas for the first legitimate time in his career. However this seemed to be just what Floyd needed with him after that point waking up and given what I think is his best performance to date. Not only did Floyd show a great chin from not touching down he shown great composure to finish off the round the stronger undoubtedly the round belonged to Mosley but in the closing stages of the round Floyd regained control. And that’s pretty much how it stayed there on in.

In the following round Floyd bobbed and weaved making Mosley miss by a small margin and making him pay by a big one with razor sharp reaction time and hand speed, now this may sound like normal Mayweather but what makes it his best performance in my opinion is that he threw with bad intentions against Mosley, he threw first at times rather than always waiting to counter, he actually pressed the fight, he made his opponent look way out of his depth and like he ran out of ideas, he made his opponent respect him and in doing so Mosley was very jittery and considering the type of opponent is this fight being that Shane is a future hall of famer I think it’s time everyone gives Floyd his well deserved credit as not only a great defensive boxer but an intelligent and fantastic offensive boxer.

Now hopefully he can get together with Pacquiao and give the boxing fans all over the world the fight they all deserve and try to restore boxing back to the way it once was where the best fought the best and there was no question of to who the best in each division was.
