In a press release sent earlier today, Froch, 32, had this to say about the Dirrell-Abraham fight: It will be a brutal knockout by Abraham or a boring points decision by Dirrell…Come on Abraham, catch him sweet.” There you have it. Froch isn’t sure who will win.

I like how he calls it a “boring points decision” when describing a victory for Dirrell. I wonder if Froch is feeling guilty about winning a questionable decision over Dirrell. It seems like there’s still bad blood about his win. If anything, Froch should be rooting for Dirrell to win. After all, tons of people felt that Dirrell got a raw deal in that fight and should have won it. The fight, by the way, was fought in Froch’s home town of Nottingham, England.

I love it how all these people think that Abraham is going to beat Dirrell. I haven’t seen so many wrong people in my life, and I have to wonder what led them to this conclusion. All I can think is it’s a basic case of the herd mentality. A couple of people say that Abraham is going to win, and the rest of the boxing fans, ones that have probably only seen one of Abraham’s fights during his entire career, follow along blindly.

A lot of these people have only seen Abraham’s fight against Jermain Taylor last year in their Super Six fight, and because of the way that Abraham ended the fight with a crushing 12th round knockout, these fans think that Abraham is the second coming of Julian Jackson. Well, I hate to break it to these people but Abraham isn’t a knockout artist and he’s not as big of a puncher as he seems based on his win over Taylor. Abraham is a basic, a guy can punch a little, but someone who is mainly a plodder with zero hand speed.

If you stand in front of a slow plodder like Abraham, well of course you could have problems. If you got a guy with bad hand speed, poor mobility and short arms like Abraham, and you just stand there for him all night long, he may catch you with something. Of course, if you got respectable power like Edison Miranda, you may catch Abraham with something too.

Miranda broke Abraham’s jaw in their first fight in 2006, and gave him a horrendous beating. However, Abraham ended up winning a controversial 12 round decision over Miranda. The fight was fought in Abraham’s adopted country of Germany. And to this day, I think it was one of the worst decisions I have ever seen in my life. The Froch-Dirrell fight was the second worst decision I’ve seen.

I don’t consider Abraham as unbeaten. As far as his record goes, he’s unbeaten, but I see him as having a loss for that Miranda fight, and I’m not the only that feels this way. So basically what I’m saying here is that Abraham is someone who can be beat whether you stand in front of him or not, but it’s much better not to stand in front of him all night long unless you power like Miranda, and even then you never know if you’re going to win based on where the fight takes place.

I think you got to knock Abraham out to get a win in Germany. That’s the way I see it. But in any other place in the world, Abraham is very beatable by decision as long you don’t stand in front of him and let him get his painfully slow punches of. It would be standing in front of a big grizzly bear and trying to fight him with your hands. You’re not going to win that fight. You got to move around to make sure the grizzly doesn’t land one of his big paws on you. This is what Dirrell is going to be doing all night long.
