World Rankings Official Amateur – First Ever Rankings

Vasyl Lomachenko Amateur BoxingBy Bernard O’Neill: World amateur boxing chiefs AIBA have unveiled their first every official World rankings. The lists are compiled according to performances and points accumulated at ranking events, namely the Olympics, World Championships, World Youth Championships, Olympic Qualifiers and Confederation Championships.

Olympic featherweight champion, Vasyl Lomachenko of the Ukraine, accumulated the highest number of points (2,900). World Rankings Official Amateur

Meanwhile, eighteen nations including Ireland, Great Britain and Cuba are presently in training camp in Bugeat, France ahead of the AIBA World Senior Championships which glove off in Milan on September 1st.

The AIBA Championships, the 15th in the series, will feature over 600 boxers from throughout the planet, a record participation for the blue ribbon tournament of world amateur boxing.
