By Inder Sirha: No, this is not an amazing comeback story for the former champion who held the WBO Middleweight and Super Middleweight titles. This is a story of his teenage son Christopher Eubank Jr. who trains nearly every day of the week in the Top Rank gym off the Las Vegas strip.

Chris Jr trains under Mike ‘The Bodysnatcher’ McCallum a former middleweight title holder who claims “I go in the ring with him and he’s not only extremely skilful, he can also bang.” Chris Jr has already started his successful amateur career of W9/L1/D0; the one lost was his 10th fight which he lost by 1point he has already won the Nevada State Golden Gloves at super-middleweight. The weight his father was best at and Eubank Jr has also entered the National Golden Gloves in Detroit but, even if he was to win that prestigious tournament, McCallum says he will not be rushing to turning pro.

Chris Jr is working towards Olympic Boxing Team for the upcoming 2012 games in London. I believe if he keeps training hard and does well in the Olympics he could have a kick start to a good professional career, given said that his name only needs to be mentioned and I know a lot of people are going to want to see what he has got to give, he has some big boots to follow. Very few know who he is. So he trains quite freely without getting bothered. That was until he a few weeks ago when he was sparring with the former world light-welter and welterweight champ Zab Judah. Its rumored most of the gym members actually stopped training to watch the two spar it out and they also received applause from their onlookers.

I for one hope we get to see another Chris Eubank light up the stage in the future. I have a funny feeling he is going to go far, I hope him all the best and good luck towards his goals for the Olympics 2012. We’ll hopefully see you their Chris.
