Coming off a 12 round split decision win over Steve Cunningham for the IBF cruiserweight belt, Tomasz “Goral” Adamek will return to the Prudential Center in his adopted home town of Newark, New Jersey to defend his titles against undefeated Johnathon Banks of Detroit.

It was just over a month ago that cruiserweight champ Tomasz Adamek thrilled thousands of cheering fans at the state-of-the-art arena in Newark scoring three knockdowns over the Philadelphian “ USS” Cunningham in a win that many consider to be the “fight of the year” for 08’.

Rated No. 8 in the world by the IBF and No. 1 by the WBO, Johnathon Banks 20-0 with 14 KO’s is another product of the legendary Kronk Gym in Detroit where he is managed by Hall-of-Fame trainer Emmanuel Steward. Duva continued, “Tomasz’ appearance at the Prudential Center last month was one of the most exhilarating nights of boxing that I have experienced in a long time. I can’t wait to get back there on February 27th to watch Tomasz make the magic happen again with Johnathon Banks. I have no doubt that everyone who was lucky enough to be there in person last month feels the same way”.

Local talent will also be featured prominently for this event. Newark resident, 19-3 (12 KO’s) Jerson Ravelo will appear in an 8 round Super Middleweight fight with 8-3 Don Mouton.
