By Eric Thomas: In a very unimpressive performance former two-time featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (21-0, 16 KO’s) kept his undefeated record intact with an eight round technical decision victory over Daniel Ponce De Leon (41-4, 34 KO’s) at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

At the official weigh-in for Saturday’s showdown against former world champion Daniel Ponce de Leon, ARENA’s Cuban featherweight superstar Yuriorkis Gamboa had to get rid off his underwear in order to make the contractual weight of 127 lbs. The Mexican weighed in exactly in the limit as well.

It was a 50/50 fight if there ever was one, and Bob Arum proclaimed that it could be built to be the “biggest featherweight fight of all time”.
