froch45342By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KO’s) is going into his May 25th rematch with WBA champion Mikkel Kessler (46-2, 35 KO’s) riding a two-fight win streak that might well be a 20 fight win streak because the two victories seem to have taken Froch leave from his senses as it’s made him way too confident for what he’s actually accomplished in the ring.

Froch beat an unproven IBF champion Lucian Bute, and light heavyweight fringe contender Yusaf Mack. It’s not as if Froch went out there and schooled Andre Dirrell and Andre Ward in back to back fights. We’re talking about lesser talents than Dirrell and Ward, both of which dominated Froch, although Dirrell wasn’t given the decision in his fight with Froch.

What Froch needs to realize going into his fight with Kessler is that he was beaten by Ward and Dirrell, and that he’s still the same fighter that those guys beat down, so he should be going into the Kessler fight with a big chip on his shoulder instead of someone that is floating on the clouds of ecstasy from his meaningless victories over Mack and Bute. It’s like Froch accomplished very little in those fights, but he’s acting like he beat the #1 guy in the 168 pound division.

Okay, so Froch needs to be coming into the fight with Kessler as angry and as bitter as a caged and hungry jackal, so when the cage door is open, Froch can release all the anger from his failure in the Ward, Kessler and Dirrell fights onto Kessler and rip him to bits in front of a packed crowd at the O2 Arena in London, UK on May 25th.

Froch has got to be so wild-eyed that he won’t be afraid to mix it up with Kessler like he seemingly was the last time they fought. Froch looked almost timid when they fought three years ago, and that’s pretty much he lost the fight.
