By Scott Gilfoid: According to legrandclub.rds.ca, former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch is now the mandatory challenger for IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute. It’s a pretty interesting development given that Froch wasn’t even ranked in the top 15 by the IBF and now is suddenly Bute’s mandatory challenger.

By Scott Gilfoid: It doesn’t look like IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute’s promoter from InterBox Jean Bedard is giving up on trying to get former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch for Bute’s next fight on April 14th, according to RingTV. Bedard told them that Froch is still an option for Bute’s next fight.

By Scott Gilfoid: Virgil Hunter, the trainer for WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward, told the sweetscience.com that he sees a stoppage win by IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute over Carl Froch in their proposed April 14th fight as something that would increase demand for a Bute vs. Ward fight.
