Image: Booth suggests that Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko fight each other first with Haye fighting the winner - NewsBy Scott Gilfoid: Adam Booth, the trainer/manager for World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye says that they’ll be deciding in the next few days who they plan on fighting next. It’s unclear if it will be IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko or someone else. Earlier today, Wladimir sent a video message to various websites in which he called Haye out, telling him to fight him next. In an article at Sky Sports, Booth says “I had a call from their [the Klitschko brothers] last week just after David’s win over [over John Ruiz] and we agreed we would speak this Wednesday, but obviously Wladimir couldn’t wait that long. Over the next couple of days we’ll be looking at what direction David is going. If that involves a Klitschko, I’ll give Shelley Finkel [the manager for the Klitschkos] a call. We’re not far away, that’s for sure.”

Image: Arum says Samuel Peter prepared to fight Wladimir KlitschkoBy Eric Thomas: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum wants his fighter, former World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Samuel Peter (34-3, 27 KO’s), to fight IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s) if the IBF mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin (19-0, 14 KO’s) doesn’t take the fight with Klitschko next, according to Fight News. Arum plans on making it so that Klitschko will have to fight Peter next if Povetkin doesn’t face Klitschko. The reason why Povetkin wouldn’t be facing Wladimir next would be if WBA heavyweight champion David Haye paid Povetkin a step aside fee, so that Haye could fight Wladimir before Povetkin.

For some, it might seem like a shot across the bow to confirm their suspicions that the 29-year-old Haye was never serious in the first place about fighting the Klitschko brothers. In an article at Sky Sports, Haye says “To unify the titles against Wladimir or Vitali [Klitschko] would be absolutely huge for my legacy. If it doesn’t happen in two years, then it doesn’t happen. Haye needs to improve a lot before facing Wladimir Klitschko

Image: Haye needs to improve a lot before facing Wladimir KlitschkoBy Chris Williams: I saw WBA heavyweight champion David Haye’s fight against John Ruiz and I came away not nearly as impressed with many of the boxing fans that saw the fight. What I saw of Haye was a fighter that would have likely struggled badly if he was in with a better heavyweight than Ruiz. If Haye had been in with Samuel Peter, Tomasz Adamek, Chris Arreola or Alexander Povetkin, to name just a small handful, I think there’s a really good chance that Haye would have been knocked out last Saturday night. The reason why I feel this way is because of how badly flawed Haye looked against Ruiz. Haye looked positively atrocious in four different areas: 1. Stamina, 2. Chin, 3. Porous defense and 4. punching technique.
