smith434By Scott Gilfoid: Paul Smith (32-3, 18 KO’s) will be taking his career in reverse mode this month on June 29th when he faces Tony Dodson (29-7-1, 14 KO’s) in a rematch for the vacant BBBofC British super middleweight title at the Bolton Arena, Bolton, Lancashire, UK. Smith already beat the 32-year-old Dodson in an ugly clinch-filled fight in 2010.

There wasn’t much to note about the fight other than all the dreadful head-butts that occurred left and right and all the dripping blood from the cuts the two fighters suffered in the fight.

By Sean McDaniel: British super middleweight champion Paul Smith (29-1, 15 KO’s) had to fight hard to win an unimpressive 12 round unanimous decision on Friday night against Tony Dodson (24-6-1, 12 KO’s) at the Echo Arena, in Liverpool, England. The final judges’ scores were 117-112, 116-111 and 115-112, Smith, 27, was cut badly over his left eye after ramming heads with Dodson in the 1st round.

The fight was back and forth action with Quigley, 24, knocking Dodson, 28, to the canvas in the 2nd round. Dodson was a physical wreck at this point in the fight, sustaining a cut on the bridge of his nose and under his left eye.

dodson435By Nate Anderson: Super middleweight Tony Quigley (13-1, 6 KOs) stopped Tony Dodson (24-5-1, 12 KOs) in the 12th round for the vacant BBBofC British super middleweight title. Quigley, 24, dropped Dodson twice in the 12th. After a badly hurt Dodson got up from the 2nd knockdown, Quigley nailed him with a left-right combination, at which referee Howard John Foster stepped in and halted the fight at 1:14 of the 12th.
