Stevenson: I’m definitely going to KO Bellew

stevenson222By Scott Gilfoid: WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19 KO’s) is dead certain that he’s going to be knocking out challenger Tony Bellew (20-1-1, 12 KO’s) this Saturday night in their fight at the Colisee de Quebec, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. To Stevenson, it’s a given that he’s going to KO the stork-like Bellew and leave him on the canvas in a pile on Saturday night.

The only thing that Stevenson isn’t certain about is which round he’ll do the Liverpool native in. Stevenson feels that he’ll catch up to Bellew in the 4th or 5th round to drop one of his big bombs on him to get him out of there, but it could happen sooner if Bellew actually comes to fight and doesn’t run or clinch like mad to try and survive.

Adonis Stevenson vs. Tony Bellew this Saturday

bellew68By Scott Gilfoid: #1 WBC challenger Tony Bellew (20-1-1, 12 KO’s) will be facing the music this Saturday night in his title challenge of WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19 KO’s) at the Colisee de Quebec, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Given that the fight is taking place in Canada, I have a feeling that we won’t have to worry about in early controversial stoppages in this fight where a referee opts to step in and stop the fight while both guys are still alert and fighting.

Bellew is really taking a huge step up from the guys that he’s been facing his entire career. We’re talking about a fighter that was beaten by Nathan Cleverly and who arguably should have two defeats on his resume from his fights against Isaac Chilemba. It doesn’t look for Bellew that he couldn’t even beat those two guys.

Hearn: Bellew has a fantastic plan to beat Adonis Stevenson

bellew67By Scott Gilfoid: #1 WBC, Tony Bellew (20-1-1, 12 KO’s) is an underdog going into his fight in a little over a week on November 30th against WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19 KO’s) at the Colisee de Quebec, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Bellew’s promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport sees this fight as a “life changer” for Bellew and he believes that he’s got a great chance of pulling off an upset to defeat Stevenson. Hearn doesn’t see the fight as one where Bellew should be the underdog, because Hearn believes he’s got more than a 50-50 chance at beating Stevenson.

“I think it’s going to be much more than a 50-50 fight than most people think,” Hearn said to IFL TV. “I think Tony’s a fantastic boxer. I think Stevenson is overrated, but he can definitely punch…I think Tony’s got a fantastic plan to beat him. I think he’s got a great chance. We’re calling this one the life changer, me and Tony. You win this you’ve absolutely cracked it.”

Bellew: I’m going to turn Adonis Stevenson into a little man

bellew9By Scott Gilfoid: #1 WBC Tony Bellew (20-1, 12 KO’s) thinks he’s the kryptonite to neutralize WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis “Superman” Stevenson (22-1, 20 KO’s) at the end of the month in their fight on November 30th at the Colisee de Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. Bellew sees the 5’11” Stevenson as a short fighter that he’ll be able to expose once he takes away his power. How Bellew intends on negating Stevenson’s power is something that he’s not saying, but that’s what Bellew believes he’s going to do.

Bellew said to Sky Sports “They hype Stevenson up to be the next coming of Mike Tyson, but the fact of the matter is, he is just a little man with a big punch. I am going to defuse that punch and just turn him into a little man. November 30th can’t come soon enough…I am going to turn this division on it’s head on November 30th.”

Bellew says he’s fully prepared for Stevenson bout

bellew4By Scott Gilfoid: Liverpool’s Tony Bellew (20-1-1, 12 KO’s) believes he’s covered all his bases recently with his training for his November 30th fight against WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19 KO’s) at the Colisee de Quebec, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

Bellew is an underdog in the fight, and will be facing Stevenson in his home country for this fight. It’s probably going to take next to a miracle for Bellew to finish the fight on his feet because Stevenson has been knocking out everyone he’s faced lately.

Bellew said on his twitter:

Bellew: Adonis Stevenson is just a small man

bellew68By Scott Gilfoid: Britain’s Tony Bellew (20-1-1, 12 KO’s) has minimized WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19 KO’s) to little more than just a short fighter with an ego, as the two head into their fight next month on November 30th at the Colisee de Quebec, Quebec City, Canada.

Bellew, 6’2 1/2″, thinks his superior height and reach will enable him to beat the shorter 5’11’ Stevenson. However, there’s really not much difference in reach between the two of them, as Bellew has just a two inch reach advantage, and that’s probably not going to be nearly enough for him to be able to use his size to win this fight.

Bellew: Adonis Stevenson is no spring chicken

bellew67By Scott Gilfoid: Liverpool challenger Tony Bellew (20-1-1, 12 KO’s) is under the impression that WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19 KO’s) is getting old and will be feeling the affects of having had two training camps back to back for their fight next month on November 30th at the Colisee de Quebec, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

The 36-year-old Stevenson annihilated Tavoris Cloud by a 7th round stoppage last month on September 28th in an easy fight for Stevenson.

Bellew said this – “His body will feel it. And let’s be honest; he’s no spring chicken. I don’t believe he wants to face me. Why face a 6’3” guy who can box and who can fight? It’s a bit of a dangerous thing…He fights off fear himself. He doesn’t want to get hit.

Adonis Stevenson vs. Tony Bellew on November 30th

bellew22By Scott Gilfoid: WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19 KO’s) isn’t wasting anytime between title defenses. He just finished destroying former IBF 175 lb. champion Tavoris Cloud last month in a 7th round stoppage, and now Stevenson will be back in the ring next month to defend his title against his #1 mandatory challenger Tony Bellew (20-1-1, 12 KO’s) on November 30th at the Colisee de Quebec, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

For a champion to be busy like this it’s real old school. Stevenson coming back in the ring only two months to fight since his last bout. That’s kind of motivating. But I can also understand the move because it’s not as if he’s facing a dangerous guy like Sergey Kovalev or super middleweight Andre Ward.

Stevenson-Bellew & Kovalev-Sillakh in the works for November 30th

stevenson44By Scott Gilfoid: A November 30th fight between WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1, 19 KO’s) and his #1 WBC contender Tony Bellew (20-1-1, 12 KO’s) is close to being put together for the Colisee de Quebec, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

Boxscore.com is reporting that the co-feature bout will have unbeaten WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (22-0-1, 20 KO’s) defending his title against Ukrainian Ismayl Sillakh (21-1, 17 KO’s).

I’m not all that excited about the co-feature bout, but I do like the main event. Stevenson has got the perfect upright opponent for him to topple over with his big shots.
