Roach wants Bradley as sparring partner for Pacquiao: Is Freddie overdoing it a little?

By Manuel Perez: Philboxing is reporting that Freddie Roach is looking to get Timothy Bradley as one of Manny Pacquiao’s sparring partners to help prepare for the fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. I think Roach is starting to go overboard now with his ideas for Pacquiao. If they use Bradley as sparring partner for Pacquiao, they’ll probably have to take Manny out for the fight in a gurney with an IV bag connected to him, because there won’t be much left for him to fight Mayweather. I wonder what Pacquiao is thinking about all this?

Khan-Bradley will defiantly happen early 2010

khan64359By Peter Wells: Well the good news just keeps coming, as WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley’s promoter Gary Shaw and World Boxing Association light welterweight champion Amir Khan’s promoter Frank Warren are hoping to arrange a super unification bout, most likely to be on the Mayweather-Pacquiao undercard. Don’t worry these aren’t silly little rumours, both promoters have been in talks since Bradley clearly outpointed challenger Lamont Peterson.

Bradley defeats Peterson; Darchinyan stops Rojas – Boxing results

bradley3345By William Mackay: Unbeaten World Boxing Organization light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (25-0, 11 KO’s) defeated number #1 challenger Lamont Peterson (27-1, 13 KO’s) by a 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Agua Caliente Casino, Rancho Mirage, California. The final judges’ scores were 118-110, 119-108 and 120-107. Bradley, 27, knocked Peterson down with a hard right hand to the top of Peterson’s head in the 3rd round, and had him hurt in several of the other rounds of the one-sided fight. It was thought going into the fight that this would be a fairly closely contested affair. However, Bradley was much too fast and better on the inside.

Weigh in results: Bradley 138lbs, Peterson 139lbs

peterson333By Peter Wells: At Last nights weigh-in, Timothy Bradley came in a pound lighter than lanky challenger Lamont Peterson ahead of their WBO Light Welterweight showdown tonight. Both fighters looked absolutely incredible, the best condition I’ve ever seen either of them in, and trust me they are always in great shape, but last night they both were ripped to the bone. Tim comes in at 138lbs with a record of 24 wins no defeats while Lamont came in at 139lbs, one pound below the limit and boasts a 27-0 record, with 13 knockouts. It should be an incredibly interesting fight tonight and one I can’t wait for, it is an extremely interesting fight, a fight that is hard to decide.

Bradley-Peterson: The making or breaking of ‘The Desert Storm’?

bradley45236By Peter Wells: On December 12th we end the year with one of boxing’s hottest prospects and another undefeated and younger fight. This is a fight between Timothy Bradley 24-0 with 1 no-contest due to the head clash against Nate Campbell which was changed to a no-contest after being ruled a technical knockout. His opponent is a year younger at 25 and 27-0 with 13 knockouts, and he can punch. He is also 3inches taller and has a 5inch reach advantage, it is a good advantage but Bradley makes up for the loss of height in his build. He is built like a brick and may not be a puncher but is one hell of a tricky fighter.

Hatton needs to fight Timothy Bradley

By Liam Santiago: As big a fan of Ricky Hatton as I am, the recent statement he made about wanting to fight Mayweather in his comeback bout is ridiculous. Wanting a rematch with Mayweather is fine, but not in his next fight. Mayweather is on a completely different level, and although I believe Hatton can beat him, it won’t happen if the rematch is made for 2010. Hatton needs to come back and make a statement to the light welterweight division, against Timothy Bradley.
