Booth had this to say about Klitschko: “The Klitschko situation is dead. Image: Vitali Klitschko wants Chagaev and Haye after defeating SosnowskiPhoto credit: Pavel Terekhov – By Eric Thomas: Vitali Klitschko (40-2, 38 KO’s) took out Alberto Sosnowski (45-3-1, 27 KO’s) tonight to capture his 40th victory and move forward hopefully with a big mega fight against either WBA heavyweight champion David Haye or a fight against Ruslan Chagaev. The options, unfortunately, aren’t unlimited for the 38-year-old Vitali Klitschko or his brother IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko. Vitali, 6’7”, had a five inch height advantage and a 25 pound weight advantage over the 6’2” 224 pound Sosnowski. In the end, Vitali’s superior size was just too much for Sosnowski to overcome.

Image: Haye could fight Chagaev nextBy William Mackay: WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) could end up fighting #2 ranked WBA challenger Ruslan Chagaev (26-1-1, 17 KO’s) next. Chagaev, 31, defeated Kali Meehan by a 12 round unanimous decision last Saturday night in the WBA heavyweight title eliminator match at the Stadthalle, Rostock, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The win makes Chagaev the mandatory challenger for Haye and guarantees him a shot against the British heavyweight in the near future. It’s looking like Haye, 29, won’t be facing IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko next.

Holyfield vs. Botha on April 17th?; Meehan vs. Chagaev in WBA heavyweight title eliminator

By Sean McDaniel: The sagging career of 47-year-old Evander Holyfield (42-10-2, 27 KO’s) could get some new life. The Las Vegas-Review Journal is reporting that Holyfield could be facing 41-year-old heavyweight Francois Botha (47-4-3, 28 KO’s) on April 17th, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada.
