If there was ever any doubt whether the 34-year-old Guerrero (33-6-1, 18 KOs) should hang up his gloves, it was erased with him getting dropped 5 times by Figueroa Jr. in his 3rd round knockout loss.

Figueroa weighed in at 146.4 lbs.
South Texas’s Omar “El Panterita” Figueroa, a former lightweight world champion, heads into training camp on a balmy 118-degree day in Indio, CA, home to his trainer Joel Diaz and his new boxing home-base since January. Guerrero bases his opinion on how Canelo and Golovkin looked in their last two fights. Guerrero saw how Golovkin was hit a lot in his recent fight against welterweight Kell Brook on September 10 last month.

Guerrero says he wants the big names like Pacquiao and Danny Garcia. However, Guerrero is coming off of a 12 round split decision loss to former Argentinian taxi driver David Peralta (26-2-1, 14 KOs) last August at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
By Allan Fox: David Emanuel Peralta (26-2-1, 14 KOs) saw his fortunes change last Saturday night with his 12 round split decision win over former two division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (33-5-1, 18 KOs) at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The 5’11” Peralta says he had been planning on retiring from boxing after his fight against Guerrero, but after beating he says he’s going to be quitting his taxi driving job to focus on his career.
Peralta wasn’t supposed to win the fight, but he did a great job of outworking Guerrero to get the win. Guerrero’s dad/trainer Ruben Guerrero felt that the judges didn’t score the fight properly, because he believes that Robert should have won all 12 rounds of the fight. He saw it as a one-sided affair.
