Wolak hoping to get a fight against Chavez Jr. if he wins in June
By Jim Dower: Junior middleweight contender Pawel Wolak (29-1, 19 KO’s) is hoping to take on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. if he beats WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik on June 4th in their title fight. Wolak is coming off a 6th round stoppage win over former WBA junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman on March 12th, punishing Foreman on the inside with short, chopping power shots that eventually caused Foreman to quit on his stool after the 6th round rather than continuing to fight and take punishment from Wolak.

Wolak now is looking to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Cornelius Bundradge or Miguel Cotto next.
Foreman unable to handle Wolak’s pressure
By Jim Dower: In hindsight, it might not have been the smartest thing for former WBA junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman (28-2, 8 KO’s) to take on a tough pressure fighter and non-stop puncher like junior middleweight contender Pawel Wolak (29-1, 19 KO’s) in Foreman’s first fight coming off of a stoppage loss and major surgery to repair his badly damaged right knee. Last night, Foreman seemed out of his element as Wolak pressured and pounded him until Foreman decided not to come out for the 7th round.

Foreman faces Wolak on Saturday: Is Pawel a bad style match-up for Yuri?
By Tim Nielson: Former WBA junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman (28-1, 8 KO’s) faces a human punching machine in 29-year-old junior middleweight contender Pawel Wolak (28-1, 18 KO’s) at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the type of guy that Foreman just failed at beating in his loss last June against Miguel Cotto at the Yankee Stadium.
Foreman vs. Wolak on Saturday: Yuri’s surgically repaired knee will be tested
By Dan Ambrose: Former WBA junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman (28-1, 8 KO’s) has a tough fight on his hands this Saturday night against the high pressure fighter Pawel Wolak (28-1, 18 KO’s) on the undercard of Miguel Cotto vs. Ricardo Mayorga fight at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. This may be a bit of a mistake for the 30-year-old Foreman to be matched this tough coming off of major surgery to repair his torn of right knee from his last fight against Cotto last year in June.
