By Dan Ambrose: It looks like Golden Boy Promotions is continuing with their trend of matching WBC junior middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (39-0-1, 29 KO’s) against nothing but soft opposition. The 21-year-old Alvarez will be facing 40-year-old Shane Mosley (46-7-1, 39 KO’s) on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Miguel Cotto fight on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to Oscar De La Hoya, the president of Golden Boy Promotions.

By Chris Williams: It looks as if Oscar De La Hoya’s prediction about Top Rank promoter Bob Arum matching Manny Pacquiao up with Timothy Bradley is about to come to fruition, as the 80-year-old Arum is talking about Bradley being the likely next fight for Pacquiao on June 9th in Arum’s four fighter tournament.
De La Hoya tells Arum: Call Schaefer to put the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight together
By Chris Williams: First it was Floyd Mayweather Jr. advising Top Rank CEO Bob Arum who to contact Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions to start negotiations between Manny Pacquiao and Mayweather, and now it’s Oscar De La Hoya joining in on the team effort to try and get through to Arum to make him understand that he needs to contact Schaefer.
De La Hoya laughs at Arum’s excuses for keeping Pacquiao away from Mayweather fight
By Chris Williams: Oscar De La Hoya thought Bob Arum’s excuses were comical for him not allowing his fighter Manny Pacquiao to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 5th. I’m not sure if Arum is aware how bad his excuses are making him and Pacquiao look, but he really needs to quiet down because he’s making look obvious that he doesn’t want to see Pacquiao in a risky fight where the outcome might be bad for him.

De La Hoya: I’d be happy to match Khan against Mayweather next May
By William Mackay: Promoter Oscar De La Hoya is already to put his budding star Amir Khan in with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in early 2012 depending on how well Khan does against challenger Lamont Peterson on Saturday in Washington, DC. Khan plans on moving up in weight after this fight to seek out bigger fights at welterweight and his goal is to face Mayweather and be the one that hands him his first loss of his career.
De La Hoya: I actually like the fight – Saul Alvarez vs. James Kirkland
By Jason Kim: Someone brought up the idea of matching unbeaten WBC junior middleweight champion Saul Alvarez (39-0-1, 29 KO’s) against contender James Kirkland (30-1, 27 KO’s) to Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions on his twitter and this is what De La Hoya said in response: “I actually like the fight, and I don’t need a writer telling me to make it happen.”
De La Hoya: Arum, please stop lying to the public and make the fight happen before Pacquiao starts asking questions
De La Hoya sees Mayweather stopping Pacquiao
By Chris Williams: Oscar De La Hoya gave his opinion recently about who he feels would be the winner in the hoped for mega fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. De La Hoya, who really boxing inside and out, thinks Mayweather Jr. would completely dominate the smaller, less skilled Pacquiao and ultimately stop him inside the distance.
