Sulaiman says “Montiel is a destroyer” – It doesn’t look good for Donaire

By Dave Lahr: Nonito Donaire (25-1, 17 KO’s) is about to meet the biggest puncher he’s ever seen when he takes on WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel (44-2-2, 34 KO’s) on February 19th at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Up until now, Donaire has just been playing around in the sandbox with much weaker punchers and has been able to have his way most of the time. Montiel is a whole different ballgame. Whatever he hits, he breaks and Donaire is going to be in serious trouble in this fight.

Montiel says he won’t give Donaire any respect on 2/19

By Dave Lahr: WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel (44-2-2, 34 KO’s) doesn’t plan on giving any respect to former IBF flyweight champion Nonito Donaire (25-1, 17 KO’s) on February 19th when they battle it out at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. I like the way that Montiel is thinking now. He was being way too nice to Donaire recently, but it looks as if Montiel has changed his tune and is showing him who’s boss.

Image: Donaire-Montiel: Fernando will knock Nonito off The Ring's pound-for-pound listBy Dave Lahr: Former IBF flyweight champion Nonito Donaire (25-1, 17 KO’s) is currently at the number #5 spot for The Ring’s pound-for-pound rankings, whereas his February 19th opponent WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel (44-2-2, 34 KO’s) is at the number #7 spot. Montiel vs. Donaire: Fernando is powerful enough to knock Nonito out even if he doesn’t land flush

By Dave Lahr: WBC/WBO bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel (44-2-2, 34 KO’s) has a big advantage in power on his side as he approaches his February 19th fight against Nonito Donaire (25-1, 17 KO’s) in their battle at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Montiel, 31, seems to be getting better and better as he ages. In the past two years, only one fighter has been able to last beyond the 4th round and that was Juan Alberto Rosas back in 2008 when he used running and clinching in order to survive but lose a 10 round decision.

What will Donaire do when Montiel starts throwing bombs?

By Chris Williams: Former three time world champion Fernando Montiel (43-2-2, 33 KO’s) goes into his February 19th bout against former IBF flyweight champion Nonito Donaire (25-1, 17 KO’s) with a huge power advantage for their fight at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Donaire, 28, has decent power of his own, but not the one punch power that Montiel has going for him. Donaire is the type that needs to land a lot of shots to get his opponents out of there.
