Judah could face Lamont Peterson or Mike Alvarado next
By Allan Fox: Depending on how well Lamont Peterson’s licensing hearing goes, former two division world champion Zab Judah (42-7, 29 KO’s) could end up facing him next or unbeaten Mike Alvarado, according to Dan Rafael. Chavez Jr-Martinez undercard likely to include Rigondeaux, Macklin & Mike Alvarado
By Allan Fox: It looks like Top Rank president Bob Arum is going to load up the undercard of the September 15th pay-per-view card headlined by a match-up between WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-0-1, 32 KO’s) vs. Sergio Martinez (49-2-2, 28 KO’s) at the Thomas & Mack Center, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Arum: Marquez will fight Gesta, Rios or Alvarado on July 14th
By Dan Ambrose: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has already narrowed down Juan Manuel Marquez’s next opponent for July 14th to one of three of his Top Rank fighters – Mercito Gesta, Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado. Two of those choices, Rios and Gesta, appear to be awful picks if you’re looking for a competitive fight because Rios was given a gift decision in his last fight against Richard Abril last Saturday, and Gesta looked very mediocre in his win over Oscar Cuero last weekend.

Rios: I’ll fight Marquez or Alvarado next; I don’t care
By Dan Ambrose: Brandon Rios (30-0-1, 22 KO’s) seems to be acting like a sore loser in some of the interviews that I’ve been reading about the guy. Instead of being happy that he won a questionable 12 round split decision that the boxing public hates, Rios seems to be bitter about the experience for some reason.
Brandon Rios should prove himself against Mike Alvarado next
By Jason Kim: Brandon Rios (30-0-1, 22 KO’s) may have seen his fight against Juan Manuel Marquez go out the window last night with win over Richard Abril. The victory, a questionable 12 round split decision, has turned a lot of boxing fans against him instead of winning them over as new converts. Abril was supposed to be the perfect guy for Rios to shine against. Instead, Rios was totally outclassed for 12 rounds and put in his place by the wily Cuban.
