Paul Williams: How come Cotto, Mayweather, Mosley, and Pacquiao Won’t Fight Him?
By Jason Kim: It’s so sad that the one welterweight that none of the so-called best welterweights in the division like Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather, won’t fight Paul Williams (37-1, 27 KO‘s). Nowadays when you hear Williams’ name mentioned as an opponent for any of those fighters or Manny Pacquiao, people say, ‘Williams isn’t a welterweight, so why should they fight him?’
Boxing News – Cotto-Pacquiao Bout Looking Good; Roach Upset With Kotelnik
By Jim Dower: The perspective bout between WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto and Filipino star Manny Pacquiao is looking more and more like a reality as Manny’s promoter Bob Arum informed the media on Wednesday that he had a good meeting with Cotto’s management representatives recently, and will be looking to get things ironed out to make an announcement soon.
Miguel Cotto’s Greatness
By Eric Torres: I have been a fan of boxing for as long as I can remember, but not once can I remember seeing a boxer who has so vividly showed more humanistic and superman-like qualities in the ring than Miguel Cotto. It is like watching a movie when he is in the ring.
I’m Starting to Lose Respect for Pacquiao
By Manuel Perez: The more I hear about Manny Pacquiao looking for a bout against Miguel Cotto the more I lose complete respect for Manny. First Pacquiao fights a shot and weight drained Oscar De La Hoya, who had to agree to come in at one of Pacquiao’s catch weight requests, then Pacquiao fights another shot fighter in Ricky Hatton, who also looked weight drained.
Clottey Wants Rematch With Cotto – News
By Dave Lahr: Welterweight Joshua Clottey is unhappy with his 12 round split decision loss to Miguel Cotto last Saturday night and wants a rematch with him. Clottey, 32, appeared to have done enough to edge the 28-year-old WBO welterweight champion Cotto, landing more punches and the harder shots than Cotto. However, it doesn’t look as if Cotto is going to bother himself with giving Clottey a rematch, because as I write this plans are underway for a potential bout between Cotto and Manny Pacquiao in November.
Cotto-Pacquiao: Is Manny Avoiding Mosley and Paul Williams?
By Manuel Perez: I got to say I wasn’t exactly shocked to see Manny Pacquiao’s name being linked for a fight with Miguel Cotto after the Puerto Rican fighters disappointing performance last Saturday night against Joshua Clottey. As bad as Cotto looked in the fight, and believe me Cotto looked pretty awful, it seemed like a no brainer that Pacquiao would then select him as his next opponent.
Does Cotto Have a Chance to Beat Pacquiao?
By Manuel Perez: After watching how poorly Miguel Cotto has looked in his last three fights, does anyone honestly believe that he has a chance at beating Manny Pacquiao in their November 14th tentatively scheduled bout? I think Cotto is a swell character, a true hero for some boxing fans that like drama in their fights, but he’s lacking in too many departments for me to give him much of a chance at beating the likes of Pacquiao.
Cotto: Is Miguel Showings Signs of Being Shot?
By Dave Lahr: WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto (34-1, 27 KO’s) defeated Joshua Clottey (35-3, 20 KO’s) by a controversial 12-round split decision last Saturday night, and looked pretty average in the process. If it was only a case of Cotto looking mediocre I wouldn’t be so concerned, but it was the way that Cotto was acting from the 6th round on that bothered me.
Arum Looking to Set Up Cotto-Pacquiao Bout
By Manuel Perez: Well, it looks as if Manny Pacquiao and his promoter are sniffing out a fight with Miguel Cotto, according to boxing news from Setanta Sports. How come I’m not surprised? Cotto looked absolutely horrible on Saturday night winning a controversial 12-round split decision against Joshua Clottey. Cotto looked ready to be knocked out from the 9th round on, taking big right hands, and moving constantly.
