McCloskey vs. Katsidis a possibility for March
By William Mackay: A fight between Michael Katsidis and Paul McCloskey is being talked about as potential fight for March. McCloskey (23-1, 12 KO’s) recently defeated Breidis Prescott by a 12 round unanimous decision last September in a WBA light welterweight title eliminator bout in Belfast, Ireland.
Katsidis v Burns: Both battle hard but Burns takes the decision
By Gari Jones: After a hard fought fight both men had nothing to be ashamed of in what was a truly gritty fight from start to finish. In a fight many pundits expected Michael Katsidis (W28, L5, D0, KO23) to win, it was Ricky Burns (W33, L2, D0, KO9) who beat the odds to take the Interim World Boxing Organization (WBO) lightweight title on a Unanimous Decision.
Wide points victory for Burns
By Adam Foy: Since beating Roman Martinez for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Super Featherweight title on an inspired night in October 2010 Ricky Burns has never looked back. Armed with the belief that his world title has given him Burns has improved hugely and proved the doubters wrong at every turn. Last night, stepping up to Lightweight to face the dangerous Michael Katsidis, Burns found himself with the familiar “underdog” tag yet again and yet again the popular Scot defied the odds.
Burns battles past determined Katsidis
by Dennis McCarthy: Last night we saw the defining moment of the career of Ricky Burns. The question ‘could Burns mix it with the big guns’ was finally answered. Yes he can.
Burns defeats Katsidis by controversial decision
By Scott Gilfoid: In what we’ve become accustomed to seeing when visiting fighters travel to the UK to fight, poor Australian Michael Katsidis (28-5, 23 KO’s) found himself the latest victim of being on the receiving end of a controversial, some would say hometown decision against former WBO super featherweight champion Ricky Burns (33-2, 9 KO’s) at the Wembley Arena in London, England.
Prediction: Katsidis to slaughter Burns
By Scott Gilfoid: Tonight, Michael Katsidis (28-4, 23 KO’s) will be facing former WBO super featherweight champion Ricky Burns (32-2, 9 KO’s) in a fight for the interim WBO lightweight title at the Wembley Arena in Wembley, London, England. This is a big step down for Katsidis from the guys he’s been facing at the world level as of late.

Katsidis wants Ricky Hatton after he deals Burns a defeat
By Scott Gilfoid: Australian Michael Katsidis (28-4, 23 KO’s) faces Ricky Burns on Saturday night for the interim WBO lightweight title at the Wembley Arena in London, England. Winning that fight isn’t enough of a feather in the 31-year-old Katsidis’ cap. He wants to next take on the retired Ricky Hatton if he can get him to resume his career.
Katsidis looking to add Burn’s scalp to his resume on Saturday
By Scott Gilfoid: Michael Katsidis (28-4 23 KO’s) will be facing one of the lightest hitting fighters that he’s been up against in years when he takes on former WBO super featherweight champion Ricky Burns (32-2, 9 KOs) this Saturday night at the Wembley Arena in Wembley, London. On the line for the fight will be the interim WBO lightweight title. The current champion is Juan Manuel Marquez, who is way better than either Katsidis or Burns. It’s doubtful that Marquez will want to bother facing the winner of the Katsidis-Burns fight because he already badly beat Katsidis. There’s no gain for Marquez to beat him again.
