Manuel Charr vs. Kevin Johnson on April 12th in Germany

charr435By Allan Fox: #7 WBC Manuel Charr (25-1, 15 KO’s) will be facing Kevin Johnson (29-5-1, 14 KO’s) next month in a scheduled 12 round bout at the elekom Dome, in Bonn, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Charr will be defending a number of his minor level heavyweight title straps in the fight. This is a fight between two of the former WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko’s previous title challengers. Both Charr and Johnson were easily beaten by Vitali in the past, and both of them have seen their careers stuck in quicksand since then.

Charr has won his last four fights since his 4th round TKO loss to Vitali in 2012, but he also also hasn’t been fighting quality opposition and you’ll still be able to say this after April 12th. In his last four fights, Charr has beaten Konstantin Airich, Yakup Saglam, Oleksiy Maksim and Denis Baktov. Those are weak opponents.

Manuel Charr vs. James Toney on December 20th in Hamburg, Germany

charr43By Eric Thomas: Former three division world champion James Toney (76-9-3, 46 KO’s) will be facing #6 WBC Manuel Charr (25-1, 15 KO’s) next month on December 20th in a 12 round bout at the Messem Schnelsen, in Hamburg, Germany.

Charr is aiming low with this fight by taking on the 45-year-old Toney, but it’s been the norm for Charr to pad his record against less than dangerous opposition throughout his career. The 29-year-old Charr fought for a world title last year in losing by a 4th round TKO to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in September of 2012.

Charr was picked out by Vitali as an optional title defense. It’s highly unlikely that Charr would have ever been able to beat the likes of Bermane Stiverne or Chris Arreola to become Vitali’s mandatory challenger, so Vitali picked him out as an optional title defense.

Manuel Charr to fight on Haye-Fury undercard on September 28th in Manchester

charr3222By Scott Gilfoid: In a move that clearly shows that #7 WBC heavyweight contender Manuel Charr (24-1, 14 KO’s) will be facing either David Haye or Tyson Fury in the near future, Charr is now been added to the Haye-Fury undercard on September 28th at the Manchester Arena in the UK.

Charr will be defending his WBC International Silver heavyweight strap in a scheduled 12 round fight against an opponent still to be determined.

It’s so not surprising that Charr is going to be on this card, because he’ll likely wind up facing Haye once he’s destroyed Fury in one or two rounds. A Haye-Charr fight will give Haye the opportunity to show the world the difference between him and WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, because he took out the slow as molasses Charr in 4 rounds in a bloodbath last year in September in a fight that was like watching a fighter work on a heavy bag.

Manuel Charr wants Deontay Wilder after Orlov bout

charr444222By Scott Gilfoid: Heavyweight contender Manuel Charr (23-1, 13 KO’s) already knows who he wants to fight after he dispatched 330 lb. journeyman Evegeny Orlov (13-12-1, 9 KO’s) on June 15th in Germany.

Charr wants to fight unbeaten American Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) and he says he’s willing to come to the United States to fight the 6’7” Deontay if he can’t travel to Europe to take the fight.

Haye hoping to face Vitali Klitschko in 2014

haye213By Scott Gilfoid: #7 WBC, David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) says he’s hoping to get a fight against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KO’s) in 2014. Haye seems to have changed his mind about wanting to target IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko for some reason and now he’s back to trying to get a fight with Vitali.

This situation seems a hopeless one for the 32-year-old Haye, as he’s not ranked high enough to force a fight with Vitali in 2014, and chances are that the big 6’7” Ukrainian will choose to retire next year, if he doesn’t do it this year.

Manuel Charr: I will end Deontay Wilder’s career

charr435By Scott Gilfoid: #8 WBC heavyweight contender Manuel Charr unloaded on American heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) with both barrels on his twitter account seemingly for no reason other than to get a reaction from the 6’7” talent.

It’s kind of strange because Charr is supposed to be fighting David Haye after he finishes healing up from a hand injury. I guess it’s easy for Charr to trash talk Deontay when there’s no possibility of them fighting.

Here’s what Charr has to say about Wilder: “I want you Wilder, easy sparring for me and win. Wilder will feel Arabian Bombs my friend. Wilder is a pu**y. He doesn’t want to fight anyone who comes to fight and win.

Haye vs. Charr postponed, not cancelled, says Booth

By Scott Gilfoid: Adam Booth, the trainer/manager for former two division world champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s), says Haye’s fight with Manuel Charr isn’t off. They still plan on fighting him but they’ll need to postpone it until Haye’s dislocated left hand heals, whenever that is.

Haye was supposed to be fighting Charr next month on June 29th at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, UK, but Haye injured his left hand while training and won’t be ready by next month to fight the #8 WBC Charr.
